Anyone who had issues downloading FW files for at least the last few hours (403 error message), this is now resolved. The remote file server disconnected its share to the main DDD server and would not reconnect, it was complaining about permissions issues. After a short while trying to understand what had happened and nothing making much sense, i went for a quick reboot to see if things would self resolve. As with many IT things, this fixed everything. Sorry for the downtime!
403 Forbidden
Seems like we have some kind of issue with the remote FW repo, every file is giving a 403 forbidden error. Looking into it now.
Service Restored
Service is now restored. Despite not changing code in this particular file for 3+ months, it was suddenly throwing errors which i will now start investigations into. Luckily the code was superfluous and commenting it out was possible without affecting other systems or functions.
Site Availability
Some people seem to be having issues accessing the site and/or downloading files. This doesn’t seem to be a worldwide issue, but it is being investigated.
All other system functions are working including downloading files via the desktop app.
Full Service Resumption
All systems are now back online.
If you were a regular user of the DDD website, full speed downloads from the website have resumed (no more waiting for large files to begin downloading!!) That sounds simple, but was actually quite an effort due to how DDD's servers are structured. I wont get into the technicalities, but im glad its back to super speeds again!
